TheBook Titled, "The Uncared Self, Myself Care Journey: The Things I Wish I Knew" by Joanie J. Scott
Service Description
What is this book about? “The Uncared Self, Myself Care Journey: The Things I wish I knew” is about Joanie, the author. In this book, she explains how she learned about self-care and self-development (e.g., what self-care is, how to manage stress, interpersonal relationships, professional experiences, spirituality, sexual health, weight, food, exercises, finances, etc.) as she grew older. Joanie comes from an underserved, under-resourced community where self-care was rarely prioritized. In her professional journey, she met people from diverse economic backgrounds, and she noticed that others too often failed to prioritize self-care at the expense of financial gains or to take care of others regardless of their upbringing. Some of the poor self-care practices may include not eating healthily, not exercising, not drinking water, and not managing health conditions, such as high blood pressure (hypertension), effectively. Why is having a monthly self-care book club important? Joanie not only wrote a book about her self-care and self-development journey, but also a workbook to complement it, so readers can explore their own journey and create a five-year plan to accomplish it and/or reinforce their goals. How will this meeting take place? This book is great for students, parents, teachers, and people who want to take better care of themselves or others. Every month, Joanie covers a chapter of the book and workbook, giving readers a month to read about her personal and professional journey, and to self-reflect on their self-care and self-development. Each Self-Care Book Club participant is encouraged to journal their experience for 30 days each month. To register, please visit the event section of our website www.proteawell.com.
