I am no longer a vacuum.

What is the role of a vacuum, and how do we apply this concept to the human experience? A vacuum removes debris, dust, and dirt from surfaces, absorbing almost anything in its path. Similarly, as humans, we often unconsciously absorb other people's emotions and problems. If we keep taking on this external weight, we inevitably face emotional exhaustion and confusion.

To prevent this, we must practice strict emotional boundaries. We need to inspect our own feelings and stop letting outside noise dictate our internal peace. Sometimes, this requires taking a step back from society; other times, it means tuning out unnecessary opinions. Protecting your peace is not a personal attack against others—it is a vital form of emotional self-regulation.

This vacuum effect also applies to how others view us. We easily internalize people's negative opinions or dislike, taking their judgment personally. However, worrying about their approval is a waste of time. If someone is determined to dislike you, nothing you do will change their mind. Absorbing their hostility only drains your energy. Instead, redirect that time toward your own growth: create, read, and learn who you are. Recognize that another person's emotional state belongs to them, not you.
